What do I find interesting about dinosaurs?

There are many things about dinosaurs that I find interesting. Here are some of the reasons why:

1. The size of some of the dinosaurs were incredible and not just how big some of them were but also how small some of them were. Some dinosaurs were as big as 30 feet long and 20 feet tall and some were a lot, lot smaller. I am also intrigued about how they ate, what they looked like and how they communicated.

2. The next thing that I find interesting about dinosaurs is the archaeology side of things and how they were even founded in the first place. There have been many famous discoveries all over the world of famous fossils of different dinosaurs. I find it interesting how archaeologists and dinosaurs can discover the fossils in the first place and second of all how they use all the information they gather to identify and give us information on what dinosaurs looked like and what sizes they were.

3. The last thing that I find interesting about dinosaurs is how they became extinct. It is vague question that has never truly been answered and hopefully one day it will because I am intrigued to find the answer.

Those are the top 3 reasons why I like dinosaurs.

Why did dinosaurs become extinct?

This a big question that many scientists have asked themselves, however, many of them don't know the true answer to the question. One of their theory's is that an asteroid hit the earth many years ago, resulting in the air being filled with dust and the dinosaurs were not able to react to their surroundings. A lot of the theory's believe that nature activity blocked the pathway of the sun to the earth resulting in the death of lots of animals and plants.

The reason I think they became extinct was because of huge climate changes over time and the inability of the dinosaurs to change. I also think they became a dying species over time. I think that there was once a day when earth was full of loads of species and types of dinosaurs, however, over time they died down and eventually became extinct.

Many discoveries of the history of dinosaurs are still being found to this day and maybe some day the true reason why dinosaurs became extinct will be found.

FACTS about dinsosuars (PART 2)

Here is a few facts of  some smaller scale dinosaurs:

GASPARINISAURA:

The gasparinisaura was a very small dinosaur and was only 31 inches in length and 1 feet tall. It is said that they were herbivores and so they ate plants. It would have been very difficult for them to be carnivores because of their size. They would have found it very difficult to hunt and kill other animals.

MICRORAPTOR:

The microraptor was another tiny dinosaur. It was even smaller then the gasparinisaura and was only 16 inches long. This is said to be one of the smallest dinosaurs ever found.

FACTS about dinosaurs

Here is a list of a few facts about a few different dinosaurs:

TYRANNOSAURUS REX:

The tyrannosaurus rex is one of the most common known dinosaurs to people today. They are known for their size and vicious look. They were up to 40 feet long and 15-20 feet tall, however, they had really small arms and walked on their hind legs. They had huge skulls and huge teeth that could grip and tear the flesh of other animals.

TRICERATOPS:
The triceratops is another well known dinosaur. It had a similar shape to a rhinoceros with three horns on its face. The triceratops was another large dinosaur. They could be up to 30 feet long and 10 feet tall, however, they were known for their huge skulls and in some cases they were up to a third of the size of their full body.

STEGOSAURUS:

The stegosaurus in my opinion is the most interesting and significant dinosaur because of its different features. They were up to 30 feet long and 9 feet tall. The stegosaurus's main feature was its bony plates that stuck out of its back. These were significant because scientists believe that they contained blood vessels and were there to help control body temperature.

What are dinosaurs?

Dinosaurs is the name given to a huge number of different reptiles that lived on planet earth for many years. The word dinosaur means terrible lizard. The oldest dinosaurs arrived on earth approximately 230 million years ago. There were many different shapes and sizes of dinosaurs. Some dinosaurs were as big as 30 metres long and 15 metres high, however, others might have been smaller than a chicken. The main reason why we have discovered dinosaurs is thanks to the work of archaeologists. Many fossils of dinosaurs have been found in loads of different countries since they have been extinct, however, not all these were found at once. It has taken many years of scrutinizing investigation to find out what we know about dinosaurs today.

Introduction

My name is James McElroy and I will be writing my blogs on the origin of dinosaurs. My blogs will be about how dinosaurs came about, what kind of animals they are and how they became extinct.
